A gorgeous, elegant piece which hints at the 1950s. This retro buffet in gloss lacquer and Black Walnut was made for a very dear client of ours earlier this year.
Have a look at this excellent, painstaking restoration of a circa 1950s radiogram. Made from Australian Ash with a European Walnut front and Queensland Walnut sides. Another labour of love from G Mannino and Sons Cabinet Makers. Continue reading
The workmanship in this bedroom suite is to be truly admired. Last year we received some long awaited, wonderful news; that my daughter, Claudia, was expecting her first child! While preparing her baby’s room, Claudia wished she had some sort of heirloom for her child. As we are a migrant family, we came to Australia with a migrant’s usual limited belongings; clothes and small tokens to remind us of our home. There were no old cots, bassinets or baptism outfits to pass on.
There are times when we just ‘click’ with a client and our dealings with Sandy Anghie have been one of those times. It was our pleasure to have contributed to Sandy Anghie’s stunning Dalkeith residence with our work and we are so proud of our mention in a recent feature article on her home in the Scoop Homes and Art magazine.

A while ago, some good family friends came to us with a project that only our father, ‘il maestro’, could tackle. They inherited a precious jarrah table, handed down from father to son for 5 generations, which was of great sentimental value to them. The problem was that after 5 generations of use, the table was in need of some tender loving care and needed to be tackled by someone well-versed in age old furniture making skills. Enter our father, Giuseppe Mannino, who is kept busy in his retirement with these ‘special’ projects that we give him.
Finally completed, a table and sideboard for my daughter and son in law, Claudia and Julio.
The brief was modern retro in keeping with Claudia’s love of the forties and fifties style.
